Pewaukee, WI—Harken has added a third speed to its new line of hydraulic pumps, taking the two-speed technology used by today’s Grand Prix racers to the next level. By adding a third speed, oil quickly and efficiently pushes through the system, reducing pumping time and allowing the user to conserve energy. At preset points, the pump automatically shifts to the next speed. Shift points can be adjusted to suit crew strength and sailing style. Pewaukee, WI—The unique single-speed electric UniPower winch, new from Harken, combines the sleekness of a Radial® manual winch with the power and efficiency of a motorized winch. This ultra-compact winch houses a partially embedded 12- or 24-volt low-amp motor inside the drum. By embedding the motor into the winch, only 4 1/8 inch (105 mm) is taken up belowdecks by the motor, saving valuable headspace under the cabin top.

Pewaukee, WI—Harken Inc. announced the appointment of Marc Monreal as its new Corporate Secretary. With his new role as Corporate Secretary, Monreal continues to serve as Harken USA Controller, a position he has held for eight years at Harken. Outgoing Corporate Secretary Rose Sorensen enjoys the distinction of being Harken's first employee hired in 1969, and also served as the Harken US HR Manager. Sorensen, after 41 years of loyal service, is looking forward to a new yet-to-be-announced career.
